Ray Thompson | Board Member

I am a brand new AIR Board Member (as of March 2023). I just retired on 31 March after 20+ years as a pilot with JetBlue Airways (18 years as a Captain). Before that, I retired from the US Air Force after 21 1/2 years. During those years I held various leadership positions including Chief of Staff and Inspector General for the 305th Air Mobility Wing, Squadron Chief of Standardization and Evaluation, and Operational Support Squadron Commander at Al Jabar Air Base in Kuwait. I also taught at the US Air Force Academy where I was an Assistant Professor in the Political Science Department (have MA in Political Science and an MA in Government from UC Santa Barbara and The University of Texas, respectively). I have served as a board member in a local Christian school as well as a church board member.

My wife Pam and I serve in various ministries in our local church and have supported AIR since 2021. We believe in the work that AIR is doing to further God’s kingdom by sharing the love of Christ with those in need. We received disaster relief training through AIR in 2019 and look forward to being able to serve together in the future.
